Biography:
Ellis made the step up to the All Blacks in 2006 after just one season of Super Rugby. The scum-half was a surprise pick in Graham Henry’s 2007 World Cup squad but was only called into action against Romania and Georgia.
The 27-year-old went on to make the number nine jersey his own in 2008 but has since been involved in an intense tussle for the position with Jimmy Cowan and Piri Weepu.
