Hottie Friday: Elizabeth Hurley

The first thing I need to do is apologize for the lack of activity on my blog this week. It has been a truly rough week for me; extremely tiresome and stressful. I'm truly grateful that it's the weekend. Thank you all for being so patient. But this blog is not about me so on to more pleasurable things.

Eizabeth Jane Hurley deserves her spot on my Hottie Friday list. I developed a serious crush on her from the moment I first saw her. Her beauty and hotness cannot go unnoticed. She makes you stop and stare; she gets your attention. Call me gullible and shallow if you will but I would watch any movie or buy any magazine that Hurley appears in.

One of the things that I admire about Hurley is her ability to stay in the game and make it all seem so effortless. But that's not the only thing. She's a very confident woman who has held her ground from the very beginning.

Much has been said about her; both good and bad but through it all she never wavered; she stuck to her guns. This is an admirable trait in a woman. She has never, at least to my knowledge, done anything just because the press or any other media was coaxing or expected her to do.

She has always carried herself with a sense of class and dignity and from all appearances she seems genuinely happy with her life and career at any given time. She smiles with ease, her smile appears genuine, there is nothing 'put on' about Hurley; what you get is what you see. I really like that.

Her career as a fashion model and actress cannot exactly be described as illustrious; however she has certainly made a name for herself. For quite some time she was only known as Hugh Grant's girlfriend. And after their 13 year relationship came to an end, she then became known as Hugh Grant's ex-girlfriend. Today she is known as Elizabeth Hurley, the hot sexy former Estée Lauder spokesmodel.

Although she was replaced as spokesmodel in 2001, she still works on independent contracts for the company. She still participates in their campaigns. Over the years Hurley also worked for Jordache, Got Milk?, Patrick Cox, MQ Clothiers of Sweden and Monsoon. In 2008 it was revealed that Hurley will be the seasonal campaign face for Blackglama mink.

Hurley has her own beachwear line called Elizabeth Hurley Beach. It was established in 2005. I give kudos to her for establishing herself as one of the most recognizable fashion models in the industry especially since she got into the business at an unusual age for someone in the industry (29) but even more so for doing so without having any prior knowledge or experience as a model.

Her most notable movies, since beginning her acting career in 1997 in Aria, include Passenger 57, EdTV, Bedazzled, Serving Sara, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (which earned her the ShoWest Supporting Actress of the Year - her only award of her career) and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Her acting and modeling ability have come under scrutiny at one point or another as well as her personal life. However, there's one thing about Hurley that has never been questioned and rightly so and that is that Hurley is beyond question one of the hottest women on the planet.

At age 43, this British hottie is still stunningly beautiful and still turns heads and can stop traffic. Elizabeth Hurley is intensely sexy. She has curves in all the right places too. She's not stick thin and has no problems with it. In fact she's never been this way. She's comfortable in her own skin. She enjoys, in fact she celebrates, her sexuality.

As a result of losing her grandmother to Breast Cancer, Hurley is an ardent supporter and activist for the awareness and prevention of breast cancer. She also contributes to causes that aid youths and world hunger.

Elizabeth Hurley is all that and then some. Don't feel like getting out of bed? Elizabeth Hurley can fix that. Don't feel much like doing anything? Call on Liz. Coffee not giving you that 'get-up-and-go'? Got the Monday morning blues? Got too much pressure at work? Things just not going right? Liz is the cure for all these things and more.

All I can say after that is TGIF!(thank god/goodness it's Friday). sure as hell need this weekend, I'm about to break. Go out this weekend, have fun, get up, get out, just do something (that's an order) but above all be safe.
