The British Invasion: Lena Headey

In the LGBT world Lena Headey is best known for her role in Imagine Me and You. To the rest of the world she is probably best known for her role as Sarah Connor in FOX's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

This British Bombshell was born on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Bermuda to a British father who was sent there to train police officers. They returned to Yorkshire when she was 8 years old and it was there that she developed a taste for acting when she was cast in school plays.

At age 17 while performing in a stage production at the Royal National Theatre she was spotted by a talent scout and offered a role in and was picked for in Waterland starring alongside now veteran Jeremy Irons.

Since then Headey has been steadily adding to her body of work; building upon her career. She’s a hard worker and very dedicated to her profession. Over her career so far spanning some 15 years, she has shown and proven her versatility and talent aptitude by taking on a diversity of roles ranging from romance, to light comedy, Amazon-type warrior to badass action chick (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Today she is a force to be reckoned with and is much sort after.

Her talent/work speaks for itself in the roles she’s accepted and by the success that she has achieved, locally, regionally and more so internationally as evidenced by The Jungle Book (India), Onegin (Russia), Aberdeen (Norway) and Rote Baron, Der will have her filming in Germany.

It turns out that despite her gorgeous beauty, undoubted sexiness, awesome body and totally seductive accent, she’s really a very open, down-to-earth, easy-going, very cool woman. *swoon*. Check out her very candid and somewhat light-hearted chat with Malindo Lo over at Afterellen and see for yourself. You can’t help but love this British Sexpot!

She is totally unaware of how sexy she is and how many men and women out there who will readily grovel and her feet and lay down their coats so that she could step over a puddle without getting her feet wet or ruining her shoes (present company being at the top of that list).

Some of her more noted movies include The Remains of the Day, Possession, The Brothers Grimm and 300. She has also starred quite a number of British TV series, Inside Out, No Verbal Response, The Cave (with fellow co-star Piper Perabo), The Contractor, St. Trinians and most recently Rote Baron, Der (The Red Baron).

Whore is due out 20 October 2008 which cast includes Megan Fox. Tell-Tale a Drama/Sci-Fi/Thriller/ Horror is currently in post-production and is due out in 2009. Laid to Rest another horror is also in post-production phase. In this movie she will once again be paired with Thomas Dekker (Tell-Tale).

In 2001 she won the Brussels European Film Festival’s Silver Iris Award for Best Actress for her role in Aberdeen (2000). She has an additional 5 nominations which comprise 2 Saturn Awards (Best Actress on Television for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles [2008]) and (Best Supporting Actress for 300 [2006]), 1 Chlotrudis Award (Best Actress for Aberdeen [2000]), 1 MTV Movie Award (Breakthrough Performance for 300 [2006]) and 1 Teen Choice Award Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure for 300 [2006]).
