Mischa Barton's Got It Goin' On

Come on now. You must have seen this coming; knew who was gonna be next. Rachel Bilson and Mischa Barton go hand-in-hand. If you're not an fan of The O.C. I won't hold it against you but if you are, then you will be severely punished that's a promise. I will get you! You deserve to be punished.

Mischa Anne Marsden Barton was born in Hammersmith, London on January 24, 1986 to an Irish photographer (mom) and English foreign exchange broker (dad). She's a stage and television actor who began her career at the age of eight when she was cast in Off Broadway premiere of Slavs!.

Though only 22 years old with a short acting career, Barton has earned a reputation for being an actress of tremendous talent and poise. She has built up a career that many others in the industry can only dream about. She is definitely one of the most sort after actors in her generation.

Thus far she has worked with some of the biggest names in the movie industry; Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant (Notting Hill), Bruce Wills and Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), Sam Rockwell, Greg Beeman (Heroes, Smallville), Danny DeVito (The OH in Ohio), Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer (Closing the Ring) just to name a few.

Like a number of her peers before her, her early career included stints on one soap opera or another (All My Children) and had recurring roles on a few television shows including Once and Again and of course The O.C. Though she had appeared in a number of Off Broadway shows and a few movies, it was not until her role as Marissa Cooper (best friend of Summer Roberts - Rachel Bilson) that she was catapulted to fame. The O.C. brought her very critical acclaim and visibility. She stayed with the show for almost three of it's four seasons.

Last year she starred in three movies - Closing the Ring, St. Trinian's and Virgin Territory. So far this year she has had one movie released - Assassination of a High School President (Bruce Willis and Kathryn Morris). She is currently working on You and I (no release date), Walled In (post-production), Homecoming (post-production), Don't Fade Away (post-production), she is rumored to be cast in Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain (pre-production) and Upstate (pre-production).

As you can see from the above, Mischa Barton is in demand. I wasn't kidding when I wrote it before. And for sure you are not sorted after as much as she is, if you are not good at what you do. She has also become renowned for her high sense of fashion. So much so that this She was awarded the VIPer Award in 2008 for Style Icon 2007 by Mr Karl Lagerfeld.

If you need more convincing, get a load of this: Entertainment Weekly named her their "It Girl" back in 2003. She earned the accolade of being Hollywood Life's Breakthrough Actress of the Year, Glamour's Woman of the Year and won Cosmopolitan's Fun Fearless Female Award for Knockout Ingenue.

The many lists of hotties, beautiful people, sex symbols, countless magazine covers (local, regional and worldwide), creative and influential people, etc, yes, Mischa is on them and is also the face of many ad campaigns. She's certainly worthy. She has to her credit two Teen Choice Awards for her work in The O.C which she won in 2004 for Choice Breakout TV Star and in 2006 for Choice Actress.

Barton is reportedly a straight-A student. She and Lindsay Lohan modelled for the Ford Modeling as kids at around the same time.

Mischa has got a foxy, subtly sultry fiery aura about her that I find very attractive. And by jove, she's British! That's always a plus in my book. Although she migrated to New York at the age of 4. There's no changing her roots. She actually holds dual citizenship.
